    Heptonstall

A small village on the outskirst of Hebdon Bridge Yorkshire

There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!

I've been coming back to this and I quite like it, although the heavy shadow areas are just too dark for me on-screen.

Everyone has an ultimate goal for their favourite images -- perhaps bigger prints, DVD slideshows, or possibly just online somewhere. If you're getting a print made the limited range of tones in the foreground deep shadows will be reduced even further. Tonal range is compressed in prints. When it comes to B&W some folk just love their dense blacks, so there are different ways of looking at it.

Also, a screen projects light whereas paper reflects it -- stating the obvious there! But the point I'm making is good shadow detail on-screen will probably help the look of the print overall.
