    Canoes

I take snaps when out canoeing to record where I have been and don't take much time to think about the shot so they don't always turn out much to look at.

As the weather has not been suitable for canoeing I thought I would have a go at processing some old pictures in B&W in Lightroom to see what could be done.

All taken with 350D and kit lens.

    Suggestions for alternative treatments welcome.

Loch Meadie on a sunny day in the far north of Scotland the sky was blown out in the original.

Loch Meadie again on a dull overcast day.

Loch Fada on Isle of Skye shot straight into the sun, at least there was a bit of cloud..

    Re: Canoes

It is a nice set, but the 2nd image is the best in composition and processing IMO. The lighting takes your eye right to the boat, then leads you gently into the image. The 3rd image the lighting takes you right to the clouds, the boat is almost secondary in the image.

Final two for me also. Obviously the sky was flat as you like in the first

                Thanks for your comments.

The horizon in the third one had me wondering too. The land on the left is much closer to me than on the right and there wasn't anything in the picture to give a good horizontal or vertical reference. With so many odd angles going on it's a bit of a visual puzzle.

I did wonder if that wasn't the case - still cracking shot
