    Breaker, breaker

Spent the afternoon on Saturday on a very chilly and grey overcast day on Southend beach. My younger brother wanted to get into the ways of long exposure and asked if I could show him the ropes. A plan was set only to be scuppered when his camera decided not to work! So the shot below was set up by me, using my camera, tripod and filter and he had the honour of pressing the timer button It's what older brothers are for, right

It's a lovely image - but am I imagining the slight halos round the posts?

Thanks John. Yes, there is a slight dark halo around the posts, only showed after running through Efexpro. I've noticed this before and not sure why if I'm honest

Alan, I found this in Another Place - it might be relevant to what you're getting...

The reason is that I have found that Adobe sharpening and Nik "structure enhancement" are not compatible and, if used one on top of the other, can lead to halos around contrasty edges. So, in those cases, I will sharpen in Lightroom after the Nik-processed file is imported back into Lightroom.

Very nice image, for me the OOF boats add to the ghostly quality of the image.

Sid, thanks for that. I usually do sharpen before sending to Nik. I shall try it the other way and see if that improves things.
