    Standing Stones of Callanish

    Like the image I posted recently in the landscape section, this is another tourist free image . I decided to convert this composition to Black and White which isn't my normal approach to post processing but I think this composition suits a conversion.

    I looked at the post in landscape and not too sure about the composition and the light - looked a bit flat but the wider view and mono are spot on

      not sure about B&W here - the stones seem a bit lost

      5D Mk III, 24-105 / 70-200 f2.8 L / 100-400 Mk II / 100 macro / 16-35 L / 11-24 L / 1.4 & 2x converters and a bad back carrying it all ;o)

        I think there are not enough blacks....also I'd suggest a grad filter from the top to get some drama in the sky and do the same from the bottom to provide a nice dark base graduating to lighter ground at the base of the stones.

            Yeah....definitely !
            I know its down to personal taste/preference...but thats how I like mono.

              Still you need to do a little bit of dodging and burning to highlight what you want the viewer to see.

                agree the last one but bring the stones up a tad, maybe even just burning one side to give a look on the sun just hitting one part, that could be interesting
