Converted some of my umpteen flower shots to mono - poppies seem to work quite well!

You are quite right these work well, I would like to see a little more contrast in them on my monitor. I think #2 works better for me

Yes, I woke up this morning thinking that #1 wasn't contrasty enough! Maybe using a filter at the conversion stage would have worked better. - will give it try.

Number two works very well, but I do like the seed pods in number one.
