    Absorbing back into the landscape

I saw this abandoned railside buiding on today's constitutional, gradually being taken over by the vegetation.

Thanks Trev - yes it is the old Flax Bourton station which, like so many others, fell prey to Butcher Beeching in the early 1960s.

Is that near where the track went off to the petrol tanks during the war? Great shot of a lovely old building.

Yes, very close. That land has been up for sale recently, but I don't know whether anyone bought it.

I had to look at this for a while because first impression was that it was a bit washed out but I've come around to the processing and can now say that I'm liking it Well, it does have lots going for it being railway, old architecture and mono so you were always going to be on a winner with me.

As for the subject, I couldn't understand why such a nice building had been left to rot but a quick Google to find where it is revealed all: it's on the main line so good viewpoint and processing to hide that fact.

Yes nice work (but I do wonder how a dark vignette would look)

            Cheers,
            John

I prefer the white vignette, perhaps even a little stronger.

Very nicely worked, the Victorian style processing perfectly suits the subject. For me the original offering is the better, the black vignette is overpowering the subject in the other version.

                              (for the 1st)
