Having been to Cardiff Bay I missed this.
It is the memorial which commemorates the merchant seamen of Cardiff, Barry and Penarth who left during the Second World War, never to return.
Was built in 1997.

I must look more closely next time I'm in Cardiff Bay.

I assume you know where it is? Outside the Sennedd.
At the moment it has a few Remembrance Crosses stuck to it - from a distance they look like stickers & a bit weird, but I think it's actually quite touching.
And it's a fabulous piece of art - as is the new Scott memorial behind the Norwegian Church.

I know where it is now (searched images), I must of almost tripped over it last time as I walked past those buildings near it.
