Footsteps on beach north donegal ireland

Hello, i bought a new canon 1100d and im an Amature photographer but want to improve my skills, i took this yesterday.

any feedback would be much appreciated

Hi Fagan and welcome to the forum.

First image is quite good. I personally love the colours of the sand and sky.
The footsteps crossing the main theme distract (IMHO) from what is potentially a great image.
So well done on your first image

Where was this taken and which lens/settings did you use?

Great colors on the image. Would have to agree that if you loose the footsteps that are horizontal across the image, it would be a much stronger image.

crop just above the horizontal footsteps would make a much better image

well stephen cheers for the feedback, ive just bought the camera and got a standerd canon ef-s 18-55mm lens, the image was taken with this lens, it will take a while till i get a more advanced kit just want to get a bit of practice before i upgrade. i will take ur advice on board and cheers for the feed back

Nothing wrong with the kit lens as shown with your image above.
