    A sad memorial

    From recent trip to Budapest.
A memorial to around 60 Jews who were stripped of their clothes and shoes and then
murdered on the banks of the Danube at this spot in WW2. As a memorial to them 60 pairs of iron shoes have been fixed to the quayside where it happened.

Thanks Chris for sharing such an image. A reminder how intolerance can lead people to kill for no good reason.

        Thanks for sharing.

BTW, when posting from Flickr, click on share and make sure BBCode is selected.
Choose Large or Original size from the drop-down menu (providing you have resized to 800px on the longest side)
Select and copy the link in the box then paste the link in your post and your image should show rather than a link to the image

For hhcanon - it was on the river bank by the Parliament building, but not easy to get to - have to dash across the busy riverside road....

For Sam - thanks for comment on posting. The way I usually do it seems to have stopped working, so will be trying the BBCode.
