    Mayfield Lavender

Popped in to Mayfield lavender to see how their crop was progressing. It would have been nice to wait for lovely blue skies and fluffy white clouds, but with the forecast I decided that as only rain was forecast for the foreseeable I may as well take a detour home and have a look. As you can see from the sky rain was imminent... actually about 2 mins after the photo was taken...

if you click on the image and 'L' the slight line around the tree disappears.

      ....Another from the day

I wanted to show a different view by incorporating the picnic tree(as in the 1st picture) but from a different angle (2nd and 3rd shot)

Still like the 1st photo. The rows leading to the picnic tables make it a powerful image.

I'm trying to visualise it with blue sky, but I think you have a far more interesting image as it is.

1 and 3 for me and I'm with Colin on the sky . . . . I think the cloudy / angry sky really ads to the shot and makes the lavender really 'pop'

                Re: Mayfield Lavender

Thanks for the comments. The good thing about going when it was so bleak was there was no one about. On lovely sunny days it is visited by many local photographers.
Some people take a small picnic to have under the tree, there is a little tea room and plant table, its very quaint
...and the smell there is wonderful

Thanks for your comments. I would love to photograph anything with a blue sky at the moment, let a lone lavender. ;o)
