    Gathering the Harvest

    Hi All,

Living in Lincolnshire I see a lot of these, often travelling in the road in front of my Car!!!!

It is quite easy to spot where they are, just have to look for the giant dust cloud, however it is not always easy to get in a position to photograph them.

I realise it is not great and it breaks the rule of having some space to drive into and it is driving out of the picture and not into it, but I wanted to show the dustcloud behind and both the cut part of the crop and the still standing part.

Seconds after taking the shot it was raining.

    Regards Paul

They had the fields cut - baled and emptied in record time round here.

Every year I plan on taking a shot like this and every year I miss out
These combine harvesters have so much potential with the fields around them.

Paul , you are wanted, rest assured. I did some similar shots a few few ago and they were awful!
I dont know what processing u use, but bring up the brightness a little, and the vibrancy - maybe a grad across the sky and you may be surprissed with the dif. Looks a tad flat as is, but loads of potential.!

I don't care about the rules... I think it tells a compelling story.

                    Re: Gathering the Harvest

Hi Paul, as David said I also wanted to try and get an image of the combines but never made it. I think you caught it well, you were right in wanting to capture the dust it gives great action to the image, if you wanted a bit of space in front of the vehicle maybe you didn't have to crop so tightly, just a thought.

Nice one Paul. I like it a lot with the spray/mist of the hay at the back of the vehicle.
