    Today's Trip to Torver

Its been a long 6 week wait for the sun to rise high enough over Beacon Fell to light up Torver Common. A quick trip towards Torver looked promising as the clouds broke up in the blue sky, it was a bonus that there is still snow high up on the fells. All images taken around F14 1/100s set to 200 ISO 24-105 lens with neutral grad. (Images appear soft on the transfer to this forum)

All super images especially like #s 1 & 3. With f14, diffraction would have degraded the IQ, wouldn't f8 have been sufficient for DOF?

David, I usually dial in F11 most of the time, F8 would have been OK for the final first 2 images. For all the images, I,d focussed to get some rocks about 3 feet away so I played safe and set up to F14. Waste of time though because I ended up cropping the rocks away in the first two images to change the scene.

Good set, 2nd for me, the flow of the tarn invites you in and leads you through the composition.
The first, the horizon looks slanted (it's not) but shows how difficult these kind of compositions are to get plumb.
