    MERRICK SUMMIT

Merrick summit, highest point in southern scotland, very cold and windy, canon 1100d entry, 18-55mm av. Noticed some shots have a black band in the left hand corner and some spots, The spots I am putting down to the wind but have no idea what the band is,any views ?.

Nice set Seb. I can't say I noticed a dark band, but can see the dark spot.

Nice set, I bet it was cold! Not noticing the band but the spots look like dust bunnies to me. If you take a pic of a plain wall they may be easier to see. Could be muck on the lens/mirror or sensor but most likely the lens.

Nicely captured. Can't see a dark band but the spot is prbably on the lens as it is out of focus, if it was on the sensor it would be sharp. Easy to erase though.

Thanks guys, yeah the muck I think is due to it being so windy up there, yeah the band I have cropped out, but other shots show a straight band cutting the top left corner, will give everything a good clean and see whats what.

Number six with the rucksack and pole and number one with the wall leading off into the distance, with what looks like other climbers falling you up.

A straight band top left. Without seeing can't say but could be the camera strap or edge of a glove/mitten. When you're wrapped up and squinting as the wind makes your eyes water it can be easy to miss.
