    The Hides mountains of PNG

I recently travelled to the rarely visited 2800m level in PNG - here are some shots of that trip which I hope hope you will like.

Stunning set of shots, love them all.

Love the wooden step ladder thing!

#20130704-BNE-6001 is my favourite, and not just for the catchy title! Love the clouds in stripes, and the fact you're looking down at them.

          Well done, Mike.

Thank you for some very generous comments, everyone - they are much appreciated.

Mike, the wooden ladder thingy was apparently constructed by the locals to shorten the route from A to B- I haven't personally climbed to the top to see what's on the other side (its at about a 70 degree slope!), but you have to admire their ingenuity.

Doug, I'm with you on the favourites - I think the workers add dimension to the scene. At this location, I also came across these insects - I'm no expert but I'm told that there are many such insects unique to the area. These were taken handheld with the 70-200 as I couldn't take a tripod or macro lens.

And just down the road, at 2800m above sea level, don't forget, are fossilised sea shells. Nature is so beautiful.
