Calm before the Storm

I'm no landscape photographer, but when I see something I like, I picture it and wait until the right moment comes. Last night the clouds were just right for the vision I had for this picture.

About 15 mins later, there was a huge downfall of rain that pretty much soaked every road in Glasgow, causing major disruption. However, about 30 mins later it was sunny again lol

Really appreciate that :) spiral composition was used on this one based on a book I'm reading just now so it's nice to see you see it too :)

I agree with S_J_P assessment, however the black frame, for me, overpowers the image. I would be inclined to make the frame thinner, with some white space between the frame & image.

Totally agree tom. It's starting to annoy me how it's constricting the shot.

Hi Paul, I disagree with your opening comment, I think you are a pretty good landscape photographer, really well spotted & executed, lovely image with great lighting. I also agree with Toms comments regarding the frame around the image.

I don't normally post a second copy of an image but I do think its worth seeing the original that I processed in LR.
I only done a little and I say little lightening to the wheat, and took out the distracting tree on the left.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's been a rough day today, with my godmother telling me I was a mere beginner today. I was quite offended after the amount of work I've out into my photography and to come this far in 18 months.

I rather like how the track line takes you over the hill. Makes me wonder whats over there.
