Je suis en France?

Spotted on the way back from sailing - a field of sunflowers - not in France! A field near Stubbington in Hampshire.

Went back yesterday am at 5.30 to catch the early light - went very quickly unfortunately.

Pleased to see an incredible number of bees on the flowers and their sound was incredible.

Used a polarising filter on some images.

5D + 24-70MKII for some images, close ups with 70-200MKII, plus one with 15mm fisheye.

Guess sanity has returned to the Solent and its environs after last week. Pity I couldn't make it this year.

Hi MX5 - Yes all is very quiet - I was sailing Laser this pm at Stokes Bay and was the only one out for 2 hour s- not a soul in sight - was blowing F4 and cloudy so no-one on the beach. Sunday was very busy with the Fastnet race start. Regards John

I wish I could find a field full of Sunflowers!

I really like your last image John, the deep blue sky works very well with the yellow flowers.

Hi Andy - thanks for the comments - I was very surprised to find the sunflowers hence the title of the post - I thought initially it was late developing oil seed. Regards John

Really like the last one with the contrast between the sky and the flowers. Had a farm with a few planted last year. I didn't even realise that they were there until they were gone. (If you know what I mean.) Now I'm upset that the farmer hasn't planted them again this year.
