Re: Some recent photos
Nice Orton effect in the first Andy, suits the composition well.
Second doesn't work so well for me, that rock is dead centre and the overhanging branches distract.
Third is good, the moody/broody sky gives a hint of menace that adds to the composition.
Love the beach huts, I've been along there a few times and they are photogenic.
Last has got a great mood, the 10 stopper doing it's job very well, you have leaning lighthouse, probably caused by pointing the lens slightly down while shooting.down.Concentrate on equipment and you'll take technically good photographs. Concentrate on seeing the light's magic colours and your images will stir the soul. - Jack Dykinga
Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography- George Eastman

Re: Some recent photos
I like all of them Andy where did you have the flash positioned in the beach hut shot as you have managed to use it very subtley hats off to you as I didn't think you had used flash till I read it under the photo1Dmk2, Canon 70-200 f4 L Non-IS & a borrowed canon 28mm

Re: Some recent photos
Thanks all.
Les, yes lens distortion didn't do me any favours with the last shot. I attempted to correct it, but it didn't work out. It's also not helped by the fact that there's a smaller lighthouse (or whatever it is) in-line with the larger one.
Paul, that's an error on my behalf, there's no flash in that shot. I had used it on others, but it was way too obvious. I'll correct the description.Canon EOS 5D Mark III, EF 135mm F/2 L, EF 16-35mm F/4 L, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 28mm f/2.8

Re: Some recent photos
Thanks for the comments :-)
Edit: Paul, the Exif for the Beach Hut shot, does show that the flash was on and fired.Last edited by AndyA; 04-04-2014, 14:36.Canon EOS 5D Mark III, EF 135mm F/2 L, EF 16-35mm F/4 L, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 28mm f/2.8
