Not the best of weather Nat to visit Elan Valley.
I see they have chopped down all the lovely trees from behind the church (i).
You remembered the walk to Pen y garreg Dam, I recognise the tree roots (iv) and the water outlet (ii).
I almost went there last Tuesday but went to Brecon National Park instead.

Did you and your lady friend enjoy your trip?

Thanks Stephen. The weather forecast was "good few days". However we wanted a change from our usual haunts and went. Also photography is not always based on good sunshine, blue skies, green grass and green tree leaves etc etc. We did enjoy the food at the Triangle which you recommended. Had all our evening meals there. Bad weather for the Red Kites- rain was our enemy.

Nice shots Nat. Last one is my fave, with the diagonal of the bridge. The tree is too dominant for me in 3 and 4, but of course, that might be what you were intending!

Stephen, is this the bridge we parked at, and missed the Hercules plane that flew over us?

Wayne and Mike; thanks for looking. Pity the weather was not very condusive to colourful photography byt then again, my photos show actually how the place WAS when we went there. I wouldn't dream of bringing the blue skies of Kent/Dorset via PSE. Yes, Wayne we enjoyed the break esp after the bad weather we experienced at the beginning of the year- a chance to get out, away from the house and kitchen sink. Mike, this was about my third visit to Elan valley- a lovely part of Wales, and I remember the Hercules plane which we also saw the last time we were there- and missed taking photographs as the equipment was in the car boot. We have been informed that these planes are training exercises for the pilots & that the planes are from the RAF base nearby.

Nice shots Nat. A dreich day (very different from our crisp pre-Christmas 2012 visit) but you have captured it well.

Thank you Scott for taking a look. Yes, it was a colourless, "humourless" 3 days in Elan valley- but very quiet, and restful.

No Mike, it was the next reservoir up, Craig Goch reservoir.
Would of been a fantastic image with the Hercules.

I am hoping to re-visit Elan Valley in the next week or so.
