Couple of shots trying out the 5D3

Getting a new camera is never easy to get used to. Even harder when you change your style of photography. I tried it for wildlife with the 400L on it and I didn't like using it. Totally all to pot on balance, anyway, I've been scouting about central Scotland looking for shots. Here's two so far.

So far I'm really liking the set up. It'll take a wee while to settle into a style again but for now I'm just trying to replicate what it was like.

    Hope you like it

Nah totally not for me. I think the 5D3 is built for 2.8 glass lol

Such a hard location because you have one angle on this and it's straight into the sun. Sunrise hits the hill on the right so I might go for that one morning.

I really like the natural looking colours on no 1, but no 2 has fantastic composition and interest. Did you use a warming filter on the 2nd image, to help with the Sun?

No Andy just straight into the lens. I just watched the highlighted areas and knew the 5d3 shadow recovery is amazing. There's natural shadow in a shot like this so I just played on the highlights

I'm really lucky. I live in Lennoxtown, it's a very small 3-4 miles from the hills that stretch from here to Stirling and out to Loch Lomond. It's just finding that spot that no one has been lol. You guys should come up one time.

Loads are doing it John so you're in good company :) How do you find the 50mm 1.4? I have the cheapo 1.8 and don't trust it.

Cheers :) It's taken me three days to decide the edit for that shot lol. Never happened to me before.
