The sun doesn't always shine in Menorca.

Between November and late February we are battered by electrical storms and severe winds.

Usually these come from the north and are called Tramontanas but yesterday there were 70mph winds from the south.

Less than an hour later it was chucking it down!

I do like the last one Bo really shows the power of the waves ..

We get similar storms here and I've taken a few wave photos but I feel let down as they are never as impressive as what you see - I think getting good wave photos is quite a challenge

Do you also get gotafria's? they keep warning us we have another due as the last bad one was 8 yrs ago, although risk for this year is dropping now due the sea temperature dropping

        Thanks for looking, chaps.

Tigger, I have looked online to find out what a gotafria is. I think the answer to your question is no- probably due to the fact that we haven't got big mountain range behind us.... Just a little lump that we call Monte Toro but it's less than 400m high.

If or when the gotafria comes it looks pretty disastrous, from pics & vids shown

Great set that, architecture notwithstanding, could be the north coast of Scotland!

BTW, I was sat on the ground in the shelter of a low wall which offered protection for me and the camera.
