Fully agree with you, Paul: I love landscapes where there is a lot of nature and very little presence of houses and people.
The second pic is only a document of the place ... and not really a "landscape"....it's true !

I like the first picture but if I may suggest the cut off line of the water's edge spoils it a little.
If you had pulled out slightly the sweep of the water would have given an uninterrupted lead in line for the eye to follow to the figures .
