    Planted

The view looking out from Wat Tyler country park outside of Basildon, Essex.

The creek is not looking its best being as dry as a bone, ironic really considering the drenching we have had lately.

Alan is this a landscape or a shot of an anchor ? If the latter then fine but if a landscape then the dof is much too narrow, not surprising at f4 though

Interesting subjects makes a nice shot.

The tidal creeks and marshes of Essex are sometimes more interesting subjects at low tide than high.

I purposely wanted to throw the background out as it wasn't too pretty. The focus was the anchor and the fresh flowers. Blurring the background tells the viewer what it is and suggests it could be better.

Could be a good candidate for a colour pop on the daffs alone...

Alan, no doubt where the focus is with that second one! I much prefer that; as you say, the background isn't the best, but you need something to give the foreground context. Like that a lot.
