    Menorca - Cap de Favaritx

Just had a few days in Menorca - this is a spectacular location at Cap de Favaritx Black and white or colour?

nice shots Tony - I prefer the 2nd one as the first the conversion has made the lighthouse look a tad odd, have you done something to it?

the colour is much more interesting and sea really makes the rocks stand out well - I can see the horizon is level but the lighthouse looks off ? is that because of the angle you shot at, or just some illusion due to the lines going up the tower ??

I can see what you mean. The light was a little flat and I've probably played around with the sliders a little too much in LR for the mono image. The light house doesn't sit quite right.

Tony, both nice, but for me the azure and white in the sea and surf make the 2nd my preference. There's a bit of chromatic aberration on the lighthouse itself that I'd just tidy up. And Tigger is right that the lighthouse seems to be leaning. Another example of Spanish craftsmanship?

I know you like your B&W images, have you tried Silver Efex? its a very good and plug in for LR and can produce some great B&W results - But I still think looking at the shades that the colour will stand up better

Hi Tony, hope you enjoyed your time on our beautiful little island.

Had a quick look on my photos of Favaritx and also on your flickr page if you click onto the map of the site there are others' examples of the lighthouse.

I suspect this lean is an optical illusion or operator error. Essentially I do believe Spanish craftsmanship is sound..... especially before lunch!

By the way, colour for me too.

As yet, Tony, I do not have a flickr account and download directly onto here. Hoping to sort this out in the near future.!

What a great location Tony. My pick would also be the second, gorgeous colours which really enhance the image.

You didn't fancy lugging your tripod along for the ride and an ND?

Just a 3 night trip Alan so only hand luggage. I did think about taking some more kit but EasyJet wanted another £81 to check in a hold bag.
