    looks like a lovely location but that sky didn't do you any favors - I would be looking towards some crops to loose as much as possible

      Hmm that was one of my thoughts, but can't control the weather I'm afraid. Could tweak it in PS I suppose.

        agree, a lot we can try to work out, weather we have to go with what we've got

        I think the first you could go for a large crop, cropping down the top of the red tree in the middle - or swap the sky in PS...;o)

          true but you could have shot two exposures, one for the sky and one for the foreground and blend them in photoshop. Or if you shot in raw you could do something similar in ACR and then blend in photoshop

                Excellent images - but as mentioned the sky was against you. I think Stan has it with the two exposure option and blending but then you would have needed your tripod. But then again there's probably a way for someone more skilled in PS than me.

                  you can blend any sky in PS - so open the image, find a decent sky and use that ;o) ....
