    Thanks Ian and Dave. I'm a bit puzzled as I can see plenty of detail in the bales, I could in the earlier version too. Are we all using calibrated screens? On the 2nd version, it looks as though I've used flash on it and appears unaturally brighter than it should be.

      sorry Andy I never saw the 2nd edited one - yes thats much better with more detail in the bale....got there in the end ;o)

          The first does look much clearer in your orginal posting Andy when viewed on Flickr. Zooming in just a little and the detail of the hay does come through. Your edited brighter version doesn't look right as you already eluded to. The sun I'm good with. A very nice shot
