    The Port

Having just moved to Felixstowe I haven't had allot of time to spend on photography in fact it had been about three weeks since the camera had been out of the bag. I decided last night to stay local & head to Landguard Point. The tide was spot on for what I had in mind but unfortunately the cloud just wasn't where I wanted it so I decided to find some other compositions.

                      Excellent photography Tom.
The second image is good but similar to other images I have seen. This is not true of the first image - that broken stack of wood piles form a visual bowl that somehow encompasses the horizon and its industrial landscape. There is something peaceful & serenely beautiful about the pastel coloured foreground and that soft milky sea. But in the background is a much more stark vision - one of the cold metal of giant cranes - huge unfeeling monoliths of modernity.
It is this contrast that makes this image stand out. Please keep posting as I do so enjoy your work

I used a Lee 0.6 hard grad & a Lee 0.9 soft grad just to take the edge off the brightness in the top section of sky.
