What do you think, gives processing some extra to the photo or not?

I like #1 as it is simple and straight forward. #2 looks a bit blurred and soft.

That blurred and soft, is the filter I used in PSE 11

Sorry, but I think that the process that produces the second shot ruins a perfectly good photo.

I used the Orton Effect from Photoshop Elements 11.

I don't think the first process does anything to enhance the photo, in fact I think it looks worse. The second process makes the photo look like a sketch, which I think is quite nice.

I qhite like the pencil sketch but the original is the best of the three - the second shot just looks soft

Been away in deepest, darkest Norfolk. No mobile signal and variable/intermittent wireless via BT Fon so lots to catch up on.

First image defo the best here and the second sends my eyes funny and I feel need to clean my glasses!. Last is OK but kind of looks like an overexposed shot.

Thanks guys for looking and the comments. The original is the best water scenery and it gives a summer feeling, with all the boats and the good weather.
