Lighting up the Dale

I stopped the car to capture this scene. I would have like to set up the tripod get the filters on and composition but...sometimes you've just got to go for it and grab what you can. I suspect there may have been a wedding in progress at Danby Castle which is to the right below the ridge..

stunning shot Peter, great bit of timing to get that light - If it was mine ( I wish) I would have cropped some of the grass on the bottom up where it changes colour

Good call Ian looking at it after reading your comment I'm thinking a crop so the first fence line is in the bottom left corner. It may have to wait though as I've got bags to pack Madeira here we come

Sometimes there are some things you have to do and this was one of them - lighting to die for.

Wow, great light, a decent bit of subject matter and being able to stop and capture, what more do you need, great shot.
