Nothing wrong with it Ian, it looks like a nice place for a splash. But...the blue sky is very blue plus it seems to have a lighter halo around the tree

thanks Peter - it was that blue. Yep I can see the slight halo and didn't notice that ...as for a splash, not at the temperature mountain water is at - even during the summer its fresh

There's a lot in the image, in my view it seems cluttered with too many things to look at, mind I'd love to be there instead of watching the rain falling outside my window in Barnsley. The blue sky does look artificial we don't get that blue in Yorkshire!!

cheers Andre - as a Barnsley man myself ;o).. I know what you mean

but it really was a clear blue day ...not to rub it in but we do get a few of them, if not a little chilly 18 today, enough the freeze a yorkshire man ;o)

Is this an HDR image Ian? I ask because the trees seem to be overly sharp, and the halo in the sky for me shows it might have been slightly over processed.

My first impression was that it looks like a good postcard Ian
The colours look good I think but I wonder about the composition
I am not a landscape buff though so not sure about a couple of things. The falls in the background I like but they seem to be too near the edge for me so it might have been good to have had the leading line of the pool on the left there (looks chopped off) and the silky rapids in the foreground look good but my eye seems to be drawn to the rocks in the background. I wonder on reflection if the shot could have been taken by moving the camera more towards the bottom left corner ( more water and less rocks?)
I don't know if this helps and perhaps I got carried away looking at it sitting in an airport again!
Will try and post something soon so you can return the favour :-)
                Cheers
                Dave

                  Re: Chilly pool

Perhaps the imposing rocks do compete and win with the rest of the image? I would be inclined to crop away all of the sky. This makes more of an impact on the lovely falls, smooth pool and milky rock falls.

I like the bottom half with the falls and the water flowing over the foreground rocks - perhaps try a more landscape crop
