    Bushy Park car trails

You know sometimes how you get an image into your head, but when you take it, it just doesn't quite come out as you'd imagined? This is one of those. I wanted to give the impression of being encircled, but with a clear split between red lights on one side and white on the other. I knew of a great spot, which had the benefit of the approaching road being long and straight. For those that know it, I have my back to the Diana Fountain and am looking towards Teddington.
One problem was that I wasn't high enough to show the road disappearing away, and the other was that the cars were so slow (20 mph limit) and surprisingly infrequent. I also had to edit a fair bit to remove white headlights seen from the side on the red side.
Grateful for any thoughts and comments, as always (well, except for 'you shouldn't have bothered...').
And should I remove the road sign that breaks the white trail?

I see what you was thinking Alex and you've executed the theory well. I do like the red and white merging into one. As you have identified, I higher vantage point would be better to see the road going away from you.
I think I would either crop away from the bottom or top to make it more pano. The sign is hard to spot to be honest, so I would leave it there personally.
It's certainly got legs and worth a revisit with a step ladder or cherry picker

      you shouldn't have bothered .....

you know I like it, but I like different odd things - I would loose the sign but also crop off the top and bottom almost going for a pano shot as I think that could work really well

Edit .... LOL Alan we were posting at the same time :O) great minds

Alan , Ian, thanks for your positivity.
Sadly, I really don't think the park authorities would let me set a cherry picker up!
Yes, I wasn't quite brave enough on the pano front. How about:

The edit works very well Alex, well captured. Having looked at it on Flickr I suggest that you may like to remove the faint red trail above the white at the right of the image and also the short red just to the left of the street light but only if you want to.

Alan, Stan, Tom, Peter, thanks all for looking and commenting. Given the positive comments I may go back and tinker a bit more as Peter has suggested. Thanks.

I like this and do prefer the edit. For me I like the height as it keeps the light lines horizontal where shooting from higher would create a V.

ASK3L, thanks for the the comment, and yes, changing height may have other unwanted effects. Nothing's ever simple is it?
