    Duncansby Head

I asked for a little advice and opinion on choosing a new lens to use on my 550D and though I decided I wouldn't go for a FF in the future I still went for the 24-105 F4. I took delivery on Thursday and had Friday off work so was itching to go out but the weather was very overcast and grey, not to mention it gusting into the 40s but I had to go give it a try,

OH, almost forgot that when speaking to the seller he mentioned picking up a few warehouse clearance new, boxed 5D Mkiis so it seemed churlish not to buy it too!

Do like the 1st 2 images, how ever they all seem to be a bit flat. I think that all could to with a bit more brightening and contrast to give them a little more pop.

I see what you are saying Tom. It was a very dull day and I wouldn't have taken any shots had it not been for the new gear, I thought I'd picked them up as much as I could trying to keep the little contrast there was in the sky but I'll have a look again. Cheers.

I do like the second image mainly because of the composition. Looking at the file names you've posted raw files have you done any processing prior to uploading them to Flickr if not that may explain Toms thoughts on them being flat looking.

Cheers guys, they have been processed but as I said to Tom I didn't want to push it too much. Straight out of the camera they were so flat these seemed to be quite a bit brighter, that said I'm pretty new to doing any processing so need to learn more.

Some good shots in there, particularly the second, loving the blue tones
