    Corfe Castle and Station

    On the way back from Swanage last week I stopped off in Corfe Castle to look for different shooting angles for the castle. This one is the railway station with the castle in the background. Shame they weren't running the steam trains on the day

    Nice, a very timeless look but the steam and smoke would hide the castle.

      Great shot and nice composition Stan, it may not be a steam train but it is a classic DMU.

                      it is a Heritage Railway which also runs a daily park and ride from Corfe to Swanage using the diesel trains, steam is restricted to weekends during the summer and special steam days - of which there was one last Monday - we got some similar shots with steam but not processed any yet

                        Nice shot, could have been years ago, no modern signs or sky dishes which often spoil these sort of shots.

                          The station is much as it was when Beeching closed it down in the 60's
