The first one is great nice peaceful looking place with nice lighting, and reflections well captured. The second image doesn't compare with the first one loosing some of the sky in the second may help.

I actually really like the 2nd one Friso. I think that if you closed down your aperture a bit from f2.8, bringing more of the image into focus, you would have had a cracking image there. The leading lines up towards the people in the right corner are good. Try using AV and TV mode rather than full auto. This will give you way more control over how your images come out.

        Nicely done,

Thanks. I am shooting in the AV modus. I shoot only in the auto modus when I have mounted the flashgun.
But mostley of the time I am 'fotgetting' to change the aperture...
          With kind regards,

Oh I see, you were looking at 'exposure mode = auto' ? But the white balanse mode = manual ..

Yes. But if you are using AV, I don't really know what flickr is saying. I tend to set Exposure to manual, so I have more control, and WB to whatever the conditions are or to auto. WB can be changed in Lightroom, so it doesn't bother me so much, but exposure is what it is, not much you can do to change that!

                  Cheers,

Really like the first shot, shame you didn't get the tops of the masts. Great reflections.

I looked at the other photo, there is the same: exposure on auto and WB on manual. Also that photo was on the AV modus. Strange!
I shoot in RAW, the WB I can change.

Thanks! Those masts are very long. I have cropped some off, because I had only the mast from the left boat.
