stunning sky and well processed, although you do have some noise creeping which could be adjusted easy with a layer

As for the photo I just don't think theres a focal point to the image

I had a fiddle with a layer to get rid of the noise in the left hand top(ish) area but didn't seem to do the trick, but that could be my inexperience.

I agree that it could do with a focal point but I really liked the sky so thought I'd post it anyway. The good thing is that I kinda knew that would be a comment so it seems I am getting my eye in, so to speak. What is it they say about great minds Ian??

if it doesn't work first time round click for a new layer, adjust noise again but this time copy the mask in the previous one and paste it onto the new one, will save you having to do it again

true great minds :) I've seen a few shots like that myself with a stunning sky but thats all ;o( ...So time to start learning composite images, good luck with that one

Good try and like what you've tried to do, But on this occasion i think the composition is slightly wrong it's all focused to the center worth having another go as i think there's a good shot in there somewhere!

Can't comment on the software as us PC owners don't have Aurora HDR (not yet anyway.)

I with Ian, sorry for me the image doesn't work.
Noise aside, the marker/buoy isn't prominent enough to be a focus.

Patrick, I agree with the others that it doesn't quite work, but individually I love the sky and I love the water texture, but there isn't quite enough interest to sustain them. Actually I prefer it with quite a bit taken off the bottom so it is two-thirds sky, this focuses the attention on that sky, plus the marker isn't quite so lost.

Nice sky but agree it doesn't work. How about a crop to get rid of a good bit of the water at the bottom (maybe get the horizon 1/3 up from the bottom) and maybe a slight trim off the left hand side?

Ha ha, I've done that loads of times, not realised that the thread went onto a second page, and then posted something that I find had already been discussed to death. Usually then needs a rapid edit.
But anyway, great minds, great minds...

That's better for me but I was thinking a wider ratio 16-9 or 16-10 to keep a bit more of that sky.
                              Edit to add,
If you go back to the original image and keep the top right as it is, and take the left edge to about the middle white cloud on the dark sloping background just above the horizon in a 16-9 ratio it does it for me.
(I did rip your photo and tried it but being an idiot can't post it here!)
