    both work

with the last one I would crop the right hand side up to the side of the gate post - that then offers a nice lead onto the shot

      Re: Groins!

I will go along with Ian on the second shot, which could also do with a bit of space below the gate

BTW, neither are "Groins" which are located on each side of the body in the folds where the belly joins the legs whereas your shots are of Groynes

Thanks Stan. Can't get anymore space below the gate, should have thought about that! I did correct the spelling on the image but forgot to amend on the thread, but I appreciate you pointing out my incorrect groins - if you know what I mean!

                          Re: Groins!

Nice, Patrick, but I have a bit of a 'left field' suggestion.... I prefer the second, partly because of the added interest of the gate, but also because I prefer the uninterrupted line of beach huts. The crop is a great improvement in leading you into the scene, but I really don't like now how it is almost a square frame. I think this type of image really needs more of a letterbox shape to mirror the landscape, but I can see you can't take anything off either the top or bottom. So is it possible to 'squish' the area below the shoreline down in post processing or will that make the gate and groynes look odd? It is probably just me anyway...

Nice set Patrick, the crop works well for me but like both versions anyway.
