not so sure about the composition on this Stan - maybe going wider to get all the circle in and not cutting the tree ?

also would it be better on a different angle so the statue wasn't right in the middle of Ben ?

      Cheers Ian

Was already wide at 10mm and standing behind stone balustrade so couldn't go back further without the wall being in the shot

Right or wrong I shot to put the fountain right in front of big ben

thought there was a reason - I don't know if this is a jpg HDR shot , but it could be worthwhile checking the raw images out see if they have more

No, this I just a single shot process - the HDR jpeg cut off too much of the edges of the frame

Was there any more room to your left Stan? Maybe shoot across it rather than bang on centre?

            Nice image all the same

round to the left would have had the building and bridge obscured by the fountain. I have got one shot from slightly round to the right so that the fountain is clear of big ben but not processed that as yet and and shooting that way lost some of the pool

only option would be a full frame camera and the 8-15 fisheye - neither of which I could justify for the amount of time they would be used

Re: The View from St Thomas's

Never seen that view before, Stan, any problems with access to the garden? I do like the image, and I think the Elizabeth Tower central to the fountain is right, presumably it was positioned there for that reason (it would seem a remarkable coincidence that it just happens to line up). Real shame about the clipping of the rails at the edge, but clearly nothing you could do about that. Just one thing, though, are you absolutely sure the Elizabeth Tower is dead vertical? Or have my eyes gone a bit squiffy?

                      Cheers Alex

Reading in the book again, this is a recommended location for an "unusual" by which I assume they mean with the fountain lined up. No problems about getting in the gardens - it is a public open space that happens to be in front of the hospital

As to the tower being vertical - just checked it against the grid in PS and...yes it is

Not quite working for me, sorry.
I think it's that my eye is not drawn to a main starting point if that makes sense.
