      Cheers Ian

It is another one from the photographers book and what I liked was the different coloured panels on the walls

        Re: Staircase

the coloured panels and window is interesting, I just don't think the staircase brings anything to the image - maybe another one to return to

Very clean and modernistic looking image Stan. Like the crispness and straight lines in the image

I like this one - my favourite of your batch. It has a real abstract feel to it.

                  Re: Staircase

I do like those, Stan; I think the first works better than the second as the staircase dominates too much. One slight thing bothers me, though, on the first and that is that the symmetry of the stairwell seems at odds to the abstract design. Can I suggest cropping some off the right, to the vertical edge of the khaki section, making a square crop? That just seems to suit it better to me.

                    Re: Staircase

I really like the first one. Not sure why.

It's a bit like the wall is a piece of art and the staircase the real world intruding into it yet the whole scene is like a work of art rather than a real place.

when I first saw a picture in my Photographers Guide, I thought that they were pieces of art on the wall rather than just painted blocks of colour

I see where you are coming from Alex but I do like the symmetry of the staircase and thought it would look a bit off chopping part off. However this I think is the crop you are suggesting, so WDYT

                        Re: Staircase

Thanks for trying it and showing, Stan. That is exactly what I was thinking of, and I still think that shape and composition does work slightly better, but I'm probably in a minority of one...
