Re: Canary Wharf and DLR Station
A nice scene Stan but for me too many differing lines and shapes making it over busyAlan.

Re: Canary Wharf and DLR Station
I can see why you took this as some strong shapes and colours. But agree with others the combination of shapes and lines means the eye doesn't quite find a major point of interest. Don't know if there is a shot by cropping on the left though white building at bottom is quite dominant.Canon 5D3, 7D2, 60D, Canon 70-200L f2.8 IS II, Canon 300 f4L IS, Canon 16-35 f4 L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Canon 1.4 MkIII extender, Sigma AF 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM, Sigma 150-600 Contemporary, Tamron SP AF 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD, Canon EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS

Re: Canary Wharf and DLR Station
The second version is a little bit better Stan you've captured the scene well but it still is missing something I just don't know what it is I've tried scrolling to lose the bottom three windows. That leaves the air-conditioning ducting in frame which spoils that potential crop. Sorry StanPeter

Re: Canary Wharf and DLR Station
I do like the second, tighter, crop with a straightened bottom. I think there is much to like with the interplay of shapes and colours you were hoping for.Canon EOS 7D

Re: Canary Wharf and DLR Station
Second option works better - the shapes seem to hang together rather than fighting each other.

Re: Canary Wharf and DLR Station
Hi Stan, saw this on flickr (on a tablet device where it is easy to zoom in to generate virtual crops) before seeing other comments here and for me you could have a much stronger and better focussed image with a heavy crop to lose the white building (from the bottom) and the grey slab of wall (from the left).
