    St Bartholemews Church, Shapwick

Dee and I have recently applied as photography volunteers at the National Trust Kingston Lacy Estate and last week we were given a quick tour of the wider estate which extends way beyond the confines of the house and gardens and includes farms and whole villages. One such village is Shapwick where there is a grade I listed church parts of which date back to the 11th C.

this is one of three locations we were shown, which despite living in Dorset over 40 years, we had never heard of before and they are less than 10 miles away !!!

Great images Stan. Given up on NT after more than 30 years of membership, not as pleasurable as it used to be!!

we use our membership to visit the odd house now and then but mainly use for our trips to Brownsea which over the year more than pay for the membership fee.. Although this church and a couple of other venues are part of the Kingston Lacy estate, they are public places that anyone can shoot - you only need membership to visit the Kingston Lacy house and gardens
