    Carraig Fhada

I've just returned from a trip to Islay and mainland Scotland, this is the first image I've processed from the trip.

For those who may like a little more information on the square Lighthouse have a look at this LINK it makes interesting reading, well I think it does

Thanks for not mentioning the wonky horizon Alan[emoji3]
You should see the original with the lighthouse looking like the leaning tower of Pisa.
I gave that a tweak but missed the horizon, that's what you get for processing images after a long drive.

Very nice Peter. The exposure time has given just the right amount of movement. It may be worth experimenting with a 16:9 crop - just an idea.

Thanks Tony, what part of the image would you suggest loosing for a 16:9 crop

Nice, I like the composition and the location looks stunning.

We can ignore the wonky horizon as its not too bad!
Could the highlights have been dropped a little to lesson the slightly blown out look on the water? But to be fair that comment comes from someone who is not great at Landscapes and is a very minor point.

Hi Peter, Before I made that suggestion I had a look at the image in Photoshop as a 16:9. I kept all the sky, moved the lighthouse to the right (rule of thirds) and lost a fair bit of the foreground including the large rock. I went on a course once and I remember being told never be afraid of cropping to 16:9. There's nothing wrong with the original format, 16:9 is just an option to see if you prefer it.

A very well composed image Peter. Love the clouds and how they contrast with the rest of the image.

Yes it is. Looks good. Our hobby is so subjective I'm not saying it's any better or worse its just a different crop that you or others may prefer. I like it but the most important vote however is yours.

If it wasn't for the wonky horizon, the water wouldn't have drained off to one side to reveal the lovely beach,

Seriously, what a lovely image I like no 12
