    Mycena Landscape

We had another few hours yesterday shooting fungi in the forest and I was particularly looking for some that could be used as a mini landscape, like these clumps of mycena fungi

Nicely taken. Being the sort of photographer I am, I like this a lot as it also shows it's environmental background. Yes, the fungi are very sharp on my monitor.

Very nice Stan. You could also crop in from the left to only include the right hand clump (or whatever the collective noun is for a group of fungi).

I prefer the second one, partly because of the crop but mainly because of the lower view point

Second has my vote - grabs the attention more.

I much prefer the second Stan - more detailed.

Apparently, it is a colony (boring) or a flush of fungi.

I'm going against the stream on this and preferring the first, Stan; I think the left hand clump, which mirrors the background shape of the log, adds more interest than going in close. Both very good, though.

First one for me Stan. I prefer how the mushrooms don't break over the top of the log. Nice shot

I think that one says more landscape than the second but a shame the green is not smoother - I think with that one I wasn't quite so low down as it had started to rain at the time
