I rather like the effect of the second one. You had a nice light for the first one. It was miserable here.

Love that first, Richard. Really great composition to just focus under the canopy, and lovely detail. Quite like the second, you have just about captured enough that is recognisable, but only just.

The first is lovely. Is it a pano or had a heavy crop. As for the second, think your shutter speed was way too slow

A beautiful set of images Richard, but I do really like the abstract look of the 2nd image

I like the classic look of the first, and really like the surreal look of the second, both great images for different reasons,

Some beautiful tones/colours in the abstract. Think vertical movement and trees seems to work quite well though for me I'd have liked a little less blurring.

Wow! Well thank you very much. I suppose I have been pushed a bit into doing more processing (quite a lot went into both) because of the debates on these pages. I have wanted to try something a bit different from the normal bland processing, so I am really enjoying the ICM - I have done some in the past, but putting two frames together with various levels of blur and understanding a bit more about blending modes and high pass filters (which I have used on both) as well as curves has been a fun learning curve (I tried to find another word but couldn't think of one...) And autumn is so sublime this year!
