There's quite a halo on top of the rocks and around the marker post Stan. Nice sunset though.

        do agree with John, Stan

when doing sunsets and if bracketing I'm using 7 or 9 shots to help control shadows & highlights a lot better

Sorry Stan, but for me it looks forced and unnatural

Halos aside it works for me Stan - I'm all for bold deep colours on sunsets.

              thanks for looking guys

yes the colours are what I saw in the sunset, when they are good around here they are really intense

I have delayed a response until I had a chance to investigate and have been out all day enjoying the sunshine

Anyway this was a three shot in camera HDR and none of the 3 exposures have a halo or the camera processed HDR but it was a little flat so I processed the 3 exposures with Nik HDR and that is where the problem started - the process added chromatic aberration, again there had been none before and I had checked the option to remove CA at 100%. So I removed it using Adobe ACR which left the halos instead of CA !!!!!

Here is another shot but a slightly wider angle which was processed with just a single file where any halo is much less noticable

I prefer the wide shot Stan. A lovely sunset and nice cloud detail too

thanks guys, the wider shot has certainly processed better

                      Re: Hengistbury Head Sunset

A pity the processing of the first one made the rocks look so weird as I liked the composition (perhaps even more than the second). I would have to agree, however, that the processing of the second is far better.

                      Cheers,
                      John
