    Walking the dog.

Took my dog for a quick walk after work today, and using the adage of no camera no picture... took the camera aswell.

This is the first one I've processed.

A couple of more to come.

It was fairly misty... I'm hoping it "adds" to the photo. WDYT?

I like it as you say the mist does add to the effect.

I would however be tempted to crop a bit more off the bottom to just below where the real black foreground meets the hedgerow on the right hand side making a real letterbox image, I feel that the black doen't add much to the image and by reducing it a little the picture still has a nice base and puts the horizon on the 1/3 mark.

Just my thoughts and certainly not meant as a negative criticism

Lovely, lovely image. I agree with Muscat about the crop which IMO makes it even better.

Couldn't get the colouring exactly the same... must start to do the colour and save a base raw image. But I agree the crop does look better like this.

                Another one from the walk..

Not bad considering the dog was intent on tripping me up.

Just had to use play with the brightness and curves.

                Canon 500D - 18/55mm IS lens.

In case anyone is wondering, the border effect is from a plugin downloaded for Gimp.

                  Re: Walking the dog.

yep, the crop works for me. Gorgeous.

I like the catkins, not over-keen on the border, but then I'm never keen on borders so you can safely ignore me. If you like it, then it's fine.

love them both, and the crop works well in my opinion :)

Agree the crop has improved an already good picture, I like the catkins and normally I don't like borders but in this case I think, for me at least, it has worked

great landscape pic DeeGee, very nice indeed.
I like the catkin shot too. I do like the border effect on that, very neat idea and well used. Will have to try that out.

                          Thanks all.

Still working on the last one.. been playing around with this all day.. not to mention the plug in sections of GNU... Now if I can only get flicker to load it, I'll be laughing.

Struggled with this... and its certainly not been a fave. Wanted to keep the sky tone, but this killed the path and the fencing... I know there is a way of spliting the photo and duo processing, but not worked this out yet. (that will probably be next weeks learning curve.

Turned it into a monochrome and used a downloaded plug in "midnight sepia" the border is also a downloaded plug in. (I've spent most of the day browsing the plug in section and fighting with this photo LOL)

Oddly enough, I like the scene more now. My brain definately likes monochrome. WDYT?
