Great pics Doug, very eloquent of the atmosphere of the forest; any chance of any higher resolution copies? These have come out as quite low res.

A good trio of images...I like the second and third most especially as they evoke real atmosphere.

Thanks for your comments all ...

Ian .. as I understand it photos shouldn't be more than 800pixels wide & these are already 900. I don't do flicker so will see if I can upload them somewhere else at a higher res. I'll let you know.

TrevB .. The official name for this location is Whakarewarewa Forest. Situated in the city of Rotorua which is in the middle of the North Island in New Zealand.

ImagesBV ..Thanks very much, I was going for atmosphere so I'm glad I hit the mark!

Nice series Doug of a nice place, I enjoyed walking through that area when we were last in Rotorua.

                  Hi Peter.
You commented on some waterfall pics I posted too, so I checked out your website.
To have someone of your caliber comment on my photos gives me hope I'm heading in the right direction.
                  Thanks very much!

Trev, New Zealand is well worth a visit. But to do it justice you need to consider a trip lasting more than the usual 14-21 days tours that are advertised in the UK Media. The light, clear night dark sky areas and scenery are a photographer’s dream.
The current Mrs S would hop on a plane tomorrow to revisit, having been twice though I hesitate to consider another trip, mainly due to my dislike of long haul flights.
