Another Saturday drive, more shots from my 'hood

Often when I post a topic, the blurb I write is removed & I have no idea why.

    Here's what got deleted.
The first picture isn't trees on fire, but rather geothermal (steam) activity rising on a crisp Winter morning here in NZ

Nice series Doug, the black and white one with the figures in the steam works for me.

That is a lovely set Doug. No 6 for me, what are the grass mounds, they look man made, are they some form of spoil heaps

Another wonderful set....No 5 mono is very nice....I otherwise like 6 and the last as stand out favourites.
..............it really did look like there was a fire problem....thanks for the explanation.

Those are gorgeous pics Doug, I’m quite jealous! As one of my relatives in NZ said recently, “Another day in Paradise“!

You can’t even tell that they are winter pics either

Nice set of images. Hard to pick a fav though the mono is really nice. The small mounds remind me of the picos on the Azores. Which are remains of ancient small scale volanic activity.

Thanks for all the nice comments folks, I'm glad you liked them.
@Trev B: I'm sure the mounds aren't man-made as they are far too large. There are many such mounds like that in this area. I think antoeknee is correct in his thinking in that it's related to volcanic activity.

Here is a link to an image from the top of a mountain that is perhaps a 40 minute drive from me that shows many such mounds.
I did NOT take the photo but I may make the 1.5hour hike each way up the reportedly very steep track just so I can get an image like that :)

                  Cheers
