Top to Bottom of New Zealand

On a rather wet day in the UK, having looked at some of Doug's NZ posts on the forum.

I decided I would revisit some of my images from a 2017 trip to New Zealand. An alternative title for this thread could have been "From Reinga to Bluff" but it should also have had a subtitle "With lots of places in between" the top and bottom . We certainly had a great trip touring around both Islands.

I've just checked my image catalogue on our 2014 trip, I made 7958 images (that total may included duplicates where I've processed the raw file and save a tiff) and in 2017 I only made 5871 images, I suspect I have been more critical with the 2017 image collection deleting some that didn't make the grade.

I hope you enjoy this little tour of a wonderful country. As always your thought and comments are appreciated.

#1 Cape Reinga the "Top" of the North Island.

#2 Wellington Harbour from above in a park/garden after a ride up in a cable car.

#3 After cruising between the North (Wellington) and South Island (Picton) we stayed in a nice lodge with this as the view from it.

#4 Bluff at the very bottom of the South Island. This artwork depicts an anchor connecting the South Island to Stewart Island. We didn't get to Stewart Island so I don't know if there is a similar anchor there

What a great set Peter. It is a great country and one I would love to visit, but can't see that happening now with things as they are.
Point of interest what is the Anchor made of.

It's made of steel Trev, apparently the other end of the imaginary chain on Stewart Island was installed years prior to this one at Stirling Point at Bluff. When the one on Stewart Island was unveiled somebody used it for target practice!

Like Trev N.Z. Has always been number one on my bucket list, but getting to old for that journey now.
Seeing such wonderful sets like this makes me even more envious, must be a landscape photographers dream location.
        Thanks Peter for sharing.
