    Sharp Tor Dartmoor

Nice little 14 mile excursion yesterday over Dartmoor from Bel Tor Corner to Huntington Warren and back via Sharp Tor. Which on our return was displaying itself against a back drop of a dark rainy sky - which soon delivered! In view of the fact two of my party were struggling on our return we took the lower right hand less steep track back, instead of going over the top.

Colin, it was more than Whoops, when it came down, we were soaked, fifteen minutes later the sun was shining - That's Dartmoor!

That's why for the Ten Tors, even though it was held in the middle of summer, you had to pack for storms and pestilence and woe betide those that decided to travel light!

I was on the Ten Tors team for a few years. Where we would check their kit, it was amazing the number of kids that came ill prepared for a night out on the open moor.
