    The English Church Funchal

An interesting building with a great deal of history, built in the early 1800's in an unfamiliar style. Sadly we couldn't go insides as there is some refurbishment going on.
Whilst we were there I was approached by a volunteer gardener, originally from Manchester who wanted his portrait taken for a passport renewal image!

Here's a link if anyone would like some details of the history of the Church LINK

2, A quiet corner in the grounds

    3. Royal Lines

    4. Princess of England, Queen of Portugal

What a lovely set Peter, like the Remembrance Corner and link. well done. Agree somewhat strange looking Church as we are custom, looks more like the local council offices!

              Nice photos, well done.

I personally don't think the Church looks that old!

Colin last week the Church celebrated its Bicentenary, with music concerts and other event, sadly we left before the events started. I understand that the upkeep of the church is mainly funded by the events, concerts etc. that are held there.
