    Neither a Footpath or Bridleway!

    The sign on the right of the gate is Kildale Estates advising the public about the status of the track.

    But the more important sign is on the stone to the left of the gate, it is in remembrance of four RAF Crew of Hudson N7298 which crashed (in the winter of 1941) on the high point beyond the gate, all four survived the crash but died of exposure. This LINK is to some information on the aircraft and the crew.

        Nice pair of pictures. There are other memorial dotted about all ove the place, people don't know that they are there.
